Over the past few weeks, families have been encouraged to nominate their most cherished family member in a bid to win Victoria Centre’s competition to find the ‘Unsung Family Hero’ of 2010.
The competition, run in association with National Family Week (31st May – 6th June) is part of a nationwide search to find the UK’s most cherished family member.
Victoria Centre, one of 10 Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) retail destinations participating in the competition, is pleased to announce the winner is Gurpal Singh. Gurpal pulled two people from a car accident on the A52 when their car flipped and landed on its roof. Mr Singh wins a £50 John Lewis voucher, £30 Transform Your Images voucher and a canvas with a picture of his choice from Jessops. Mr. Singh will now be put forward into the national competition for the chance to become the overall winner and take the crown as the ‘2010 Unsung Family Hero’.
Richard Bowler General Manager at Victoria Centre said: “We are really proud to have run such a rewarding and worthwhile competition; what Mr Singh did was incredibly brave and we think that should be rewarded. We would like to thank those people who nominated their loved ones; it just goes to show how much people really do value their family unit.”
