Leading UK Business Network launched in Liverpool

Over 90 senior business decision makers registered to attend the re-launch of the Liverpool group of The Business Network on 16 October at the Thistle Liverpool, Atlantic Tower. This new group is part of a nationwide business networking organisation which has worked over 21 years to improve the quality and impact of building business relationships. Guests attending the launch event raised £450 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

The Liverpool group is run and hosted by local entrepreneurs Alan and Danielle Higham, with support from daughter Jasmine, 21. Alan said: “A direct result of having so many at the launch is that we are ahead of target to achieve over 40 members by Christmas. This is further evidence of business confidence in Liverpool and the understanding people have of the power of building strong commercial relationships before doing business together.”

Helen Bennett is the Owner of The Business Network: “I am naturally delighted that Alan and Danielle have chosen to run The Business Network Liverpool in their home city and I don’t underestimate the value of having a host with local knowledge and so many connections.”

The Highams will run the new network as a family venture, delivering the structured, focussed and professional format which has generated tens of millions of pounds worth of business for members across the 15 associated Networks. They will organise and host the monthly business seminars and lunches and will aim to keep members informed of business opportunities. If requested, they will find new contacts in specific sectors and invite them along on behalf of the Members.

New member Tony Boggild of the Mango Partnership commented: “I really appreciate the level of detail and meticulous planning that obviously goes into The Business Network gatherings. When time is precious, I have to be sure a networking opportunity will deliver maximum benefit for my business. Alan and his team are building on a networking service honed over 21 years and it makes perfect business sense to become a member.”

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Steve Prescott Foundation, Chairman Mike Denning said: “This generous donation will go towards the work of our partner charities; The Christie, Try Assist and the Oxford Transplant Foundation. Steve died last November after a valiant battle with incurable cancer. He was an inspiration to thousands of people with the challenges he undertook after his diagnosis, raising over half a million pounds in donations, and through the Steve Prescott Foundation we continue raising much needed finance both for cancer treatment and also for those seriously injured playing rugby league.”

The Business Network is open to business leaders, entrepreneurs of growing companies and directors of professional services firms based in and around the greater Liverpool area.

The November event of The Business Network Liverpool will take place on Wednesday 12th November at the City Centre Marriott hotel.
