PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday 3rd February 2010
Thursday 25th February 2010, Metropolitan House, 20 London End, Beaconsfield.
Contemporary works by some of the nation’s finest artists will share wall space with the region’s up-and-coming art talent in a unique event for charity this month. Wealth management consultants Austyn James Consulting Limited will stage the exhibition in association with TAG Fine Arts on Thursday 25th February in order to raise funds for The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home and Padstones charities. Five percent of sale value on the night will be shared between the two chosen charities.
Guests are being invited to view and buy original and limited-edition signed prints by Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Sir Terry Frost and Robert Ryan. The elusive Banksy will also put in an appearance – although not in person. The organisers are keen to encourage emerging local talent which will include works by Robin Eade and Zoe Preston.
“We want to unite the worlds of business, art and charity and decided to work with our client and respected artist Wayne Warren, founder of TAG Fine Arts”, says Austyn Smith, Director of Austyn James Consulting Ltd. “Our objective is to help raise funds for two charities we know and admire, as well as providing an opportunity for Beaconsfield people to network”.
Wayne Warren has enjoyed an international career and is acquainted with many of the world’s leading artists. He returns from Beijing to stage this event for Austyn James. “I have chosen a mixture of abstract and figurative works to engage and challenge our guests”, says Wayne. “I want people to pay more attention to what they display, both at home and in the workplace. This event will give people access to some fine examples of art whilst also benefitting our chosen charities”.
Speaking on behalf of The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home organization Gillian Barnett, Director of Fundraising says: “As we enter our 25th year of providing 24-hour care for patients, the demand for our nursing service and the need for more funds continues to grow. We are always delighted to receive support from the communities in which our nurses work, and are very grateful to everyone involved with this event for choosing us as one of their charities.” IRHH patron and Antiques Roadshow expert John Bly is due to attend the reception.
Padstones works with homeless young adults in and around Beaconsfield. Sue Ogden, General Manager at Padstones says: “Padstones provides a lifeline for the young homeless people of the District and helps them to make the transition from dependence to independence. It is great to know that this event will showcase several young, as yet unknown, artists, as well as help raise funds for talented but vulnerable teenagers who desperately need support. We would like to thank Austyn Smith and his team and hope that this event is a great success.”
Austyn Smith hopes that, if successful, this exhibition will become a regular feature on the Beaconsfield business calendar: “We are asking visitors to show their support for our charities by purchasing a small piece of the art world for their own enjoyment. If the event is well supported, I have no doubt that we will schedule further opportunities to showcase the very best artistic talent in good company for great causes.”
