The De Montfort University is celebrating after one of its talented art students scooped a top prize at this year’s Healthcare and Bioscience iNet art competition ‘Where Art Meets Science’, an annual project managed by Medilink East Midlands.

The University of Lincoln is celebrating after talented art students scooped two out of three prizes awarded at this year’s Healthcare and Bioscience iNet art competition ‘Where Art Meets Science’, an annual project managed by Medilink East Midlands.

Thirty six of the East Midlands most creative students have registered for the 2012 Healthcare and Bioscience iNet competition ‘Where Art Meets Science’, an increase of 20% on last year’s applications. The Universities of Lincoln, Nottingham Trent, Derby and De Montfort have encouraged art and design undergraduates to enter the popular competition which is open to students across the region.

Leicestershire’s creative students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in a two-week exhibition in the heart of Leicester’s cultural quarter as part of the 2012 Healthcare and Bioscience iNet competition ‘Where Art Meets Science’.

Nottinghamshire’s creative students who would relish the opportunity to express a science concept through eye-catching and imaginative art are invited to enter the 2012 Healthcare and Bioscience iNet competition. Now in its fourth year, the competition is open to students of art, craft and design – and those of a similar standard – at further and higher education institutions across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.

Support from the Healthcare and Bioscience iNet has given a boost to the launch of a new childcare product designed to assist child development, provide comfort and improve posture in infants and children. The innovative wedge cushion PosturePadJunior™ has been designed by enterprising mother-of-three and chartered physiotherapist Lorna Taylor and is launched this week during National Back Care Awareness Week.

Winner of the 2010 Healthcare and BioScience iNet Art Award Martin Bonney has donated his award-winning creation to Marie Curie Cancer Care to mark the launch of the 2012 iNet art competition, ‘Where Art Meets Science’.
